You may kiss the bride

If there is one shot I worry about missing more than most, it’s the “you may now kiss the bride” moment.

Unlike the first dance, the cutting of the cake and the walking down the aisle, it’s such a brief moment, if you’re not in the right place or have your camera set at the right settings, it’s very, very easy to mess up. At least in my early day of experience. And it’s not exactly one of those shots where you can ask the couple and everyone in the room to do it again.

This shot was taken at Luke and Natalie’s wedding during the summer of 2014.

I knew as soon as I took it, I had captured a nice image and when I got home and saw the image on a bigger screen, a big smile came across my face.

Definitely one of my favourites of 2014.
