With the end of the year approaching, I’ve found myself looking back at the numerous photographs I’ve taken this year, both personally and professionally.
2014 has definitely been a bit of a whirlwind and after shooting multiple weddings, I’ve found my enthusiasm for photography has not only grown, but my skills too have greatly improved too. There’s still more to learn, more to experience and more to do, there always is – but without sounding modest (well, maybe just a little bit), I am genuinely impressed with some of the photographs I’ve taken this year.
So as I reflect on 2014, here is the first photograph from my personal shots I’d like to share.
This one was actually taken on my iPhone 5 and then edited in VSCO cam app (well worth a download). Like most shots of my son, it features him looking away from me – the fact of the matter is I’m always catching up with him because he barely stays still these days!
I was pretty lucky with this shot really. The fact it was shot on the iPhone 5 backs up that old saying that the best camera you can have is the one you have with you and with the right conditions, you can capture a really nice photograph. The real shame is that the resolution is a bit low and despite my best efforts in Photoshop to address this, I’m not really sure if it’s worth printing.
None the less, I still love this photograph.
