Alex and Vicky’s first dance
The natural shots of a couple tell a much more genuine story. If I’m being honest, I’m not really a big fan of taking the posed portraits at weddings.
I’m quite happy to do them if asked and usually I’ll take a few anyway, as friends and family of the couple expect and appreciate them. However, personally I feel that on the whole they rarely capture the genuine affection between a couple on their big day.
I find the natural candid shots of a couple tell a much more genuine story and this shot from Alex and Vicky’s first dance does just that.
Have you honestly seen a photo of anyone looking happier?

I love photographing the first dance. It’s easily one of my favourite parts of the day to capture.
Here’s a shot from Amanda and James’s wedding, taken at Patricks Barn that I absolutely love.
Earlier this week, I was sifting through some of my earlier work and decided to take another look at Natalie and Lukes wedding. This shot jumped out at me.
